Social Art Summit
The Social Art Summit was a two-day artist-led review of socially engaged arts practice in the UK & beyond. It was convened by Social Art Network in Sheffield, November 2018 and brought together 200 artists to share practice, showcase work and explore what it means to be making art through social engagement right now. The Summit held several events at Site Gallery and other venues across Sheffield with the view of launching a Social Art Biennale in 2020.
We worked with the Social Art Summit Co-conveners to produce the two-day Summit for over 200 delegates; coordinating tech, and logistics, including set-up and de-rig of each event and accessibility requirements. We managed the volunteers, helped with new recruitment, and implemented a smooth and quality delegate experience. We also undertook a general risk assessment for the Social Art Summit, including individual risk assessments from artists and venues.
